TaqNology Camp 2004 @ Temasek Junior College (16 - 19 Nov 04) The second Bio-IT camp, named TaqNology Camp, will be held at Temasek Junior College and jointly organized with Elchemi Education.

Bright young students in Singapore looking for an exploratory, investigative and interesting way to learn about technology and Life Science will be able to participate in cutting edge experiments and projects and also be able to tour Life Science related facilities. This allows hands-on experimentation and exploration of theories and how technology plays a part in Life Science. The camp is designed to create a fun environment in which participants can learn about Life Science and how it relates to the world around them. The four-day camp emphasizes hands-on experimentation and learning-by-doing through project work. It also includes multimedia-based learning of Life Science principles, as well as field trips and visits to research institutions. In addition to learning about the genetic basis of life and applications of biotechnology in everyday life, participants will learn to apply the scientific method, pick up the fundamentals of research methodology (in the laboratory, at the library, on the internet, etc), and even have the opportunity to learn about bio-informatics, and to prepare project reports and present their findings.

The camp is targeted at Secondary 1 and 2 students. Interested students may register with the attached form. The participation fee is at $260 per student. Completed forms should reach Elchemi Education by 25 Oct 2004.
